PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Skid Row Carnival of Love’s mission is to transform the way our communities respond to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The carnival with music, food, games, and lots of hugs and love, brings together people from every walk of life to join with the homeless community and connect meaningfully. An important addition to the carnival in 2017 were health care services. A pro-bono project for us, Perch Projects created the Medical Pop-Up Clinic, identified, recruited and coordinated a dozen health care service agencies and over one-hundred volunteers to provide eight-hundred homeless residents with behavioral health and medical services, plus access to legal support, insurance, identification cards, feet washing, haircuts and showers.
